A piece I finished a while back. African Blackwood with 416 stainless fittings. 11 inch blade in a W pattern. the butt cap and guard were not as much fun as I had anticipated.

Nice work Mike. Clean and well designed. Reminds me of some rifle grips.

Really very pretty. I can see why the guard was not too much fun. How did you get the blackwood flush with the inside cuts of the guard? Make it in two pieces? xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR. I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

Gato; sorry about the slow reply; too much stuff not enough heat. The guard inserts started out as one piece. But the knife tang removed so much of the interior; I just filed it on out and through pinned the inserts from the handle side. They are removable; with a chisel and a torch! Mike
