Ralph Bone Knife
I have the oppurtunity to buy an early Ralph Bone hunting knife, about 6 inch blade, stag handle, has been used, fair condition.

I have no idea what it is worth. Does anyone know an approximate value?

Mr. Bone passed away in the last few months. He was widely respected for his engraving abilities as well as his knives. I would not really have a guess at value, but there are some serious Bone collector's out there. If it sounds semi-reasonable, I'd buy it.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

Sorry to hear about Ralph Bone passing. He was one of the good guys in the early custom knife making days.
Don't know if his knives are sought by collectors, but I would buy it just to have one of his knives. If they are not collectable knives, try to get it as cheap as you can. A knife with a 6" blade would be a good camp knife; it's a little long for a carrying hunting knife.

Ralph Bone knives have become quite collectable. I have two of his original Bowie knives in mint condition with leather scabbards. They have never been touched by a sharpening stone, etc. Best investigate what you have. Condition is everything. LDK

Forget the camp Knife stuff.

I would buy it as a tresure. One of my best friends introduced me to Ralf and I knew him as an aquaintance. I did not know of his passing untill I attended the guild show in Reno this past Jan.

I have a very nice custom .223 built by one of the best gild makers. It was engraved by Ralf and I will never give that one up till I'm in the ground and then it will be my doughters and I hope by then I will have given her the understanding about what a very special gun that one is.

If all of you pass on this knife please let me know so I can try to aquire it.
