Gents! I will buy a blade for a gutting/field dressing knife and wonder if the SS2140 is a good candidate? Found on: ourmetals.com (The American equivalent of SS 2140 Swedish grade is UNS T31501) The blade without sheath & handle runs at $60 and is sharpened, polished and heat tempered. This is our AISI grade O-1 tool steel.It makes an excellent knife steel !! It is not stainless steel of course. | |||
