I am currently working on a side project in my shop making a knife, and I'm planning on making the blade out of 6AL/4V. Anyone have any experience with using this grade of titanium? I've had it heat treated up to 34RC, which I realize is incredibly soft compared to most blades made from a high carbon stainless or tool steel. But it's a project nontheless. That's far too soft for any practical blade .Even the best Ti knives get up to about 50 HRc which is none too hard. | |||
