Found in dad's old tool box. Scales gone. Any value? Worth fixing? Who does this type of work? DYI?

Send it in to Buck, they will refurbish it at little to no cost.

Buck returned the knife today with the following note: 529 DISCONTINUED MODEL UNREPAIRABLE ALL WE CAN DO IS A SPA TREATMENT.

Disappointing.

That's the first time I have ever heard they didn't replace it with a new knife of nearest type.
I would send it back and request that.

At N/C.

Since all that was wrong were the scales missing I am going to try to fix myself cuckoo

And as I collected for years and have a a lot of knives collecting dust, I doubt I'll ever buy a buck again.

Very disappointing to hear.

They just lost more business.

Thsts surprising to hear. Traditionally they've been very good on service.

I've never been a Buck fan, ever. One of my grandsons told me today that he is saving for a Buck that he saw at Sportsman's. I told him to look for a different brand. My wife got mad at me for telling him that and made me tell him to get one. Hopefully it will be the one and only Buck that he owns. Big Grin
