horsefly1Good morning, Board;
That looks like a trocar to me. It is an instrument to allow gas to escape from a cow's stomach to relieve bloat.
In use, the instrument is assembled and then inserted in the hollow ahead of the cow's hip. There is a natural hollow there. I believe you have to use the left side. After the instrument is inserted, withdraw the "pick" and allow the gas to escape through the hollow piece.
Be good.

TCLouisif solids from the inside should block it, stopping the gas flow one has to diligently blow on it to dislodge the blockage and then quickly get out of the way.

ScriptusSeldom do you get out of the way, especially if the bloat has been caused by green lucern [alfalfa.] That green mist / sludge covers damn near the whole world.
