| Very beautiful knife, Lee! I've lived a sheltered life but this is the first time I've seen snake wood. Very nice stuff!

| Yes, that's elephant hide lined with textured leather of about the same color. The extra layer adds stiffness. I also use buffalo hide which is more uniform and a little stiffer - doesn't quite seem to have the character that the elephant does though...

its an acacia species endemic to the desert country of Western Australia , but there are similar species in both North & South America...... I believe. there are a number of acacia species that generate high figure in desert country I use Ringed Gidgee in a lot of my knife handles |

| I sent a piece of snakewood to mr ingram one time and had several knives made. he used the wood for the scales. they were all fine looking knives and the people I gave them to really liked them. |
