DeBeeOil Rubbed Bronze
Sometimes you see a treatment on bronze referred to as "Oil Rubbed Bronze" on cabinetry hinges and pulls.
Does anyone know how to create it? What is the oil? Linseed? Motor? Olive??? I guess you bake the parts and dip them???
Any info appreciated...

mstarlingI don't think naval bronze is oil impregnated.
Some bearing bonzes are ... and are porous. They'll smear and pit when polished to aggresively. If done gently it can make nice guards.

meteFriction bearings [bushings ] are sometimes made of powdered bronze which , when compressed ,have pores which are then filled with lubricant. These are the 'prelubricated' bearings.
