Well, since nobody has replied I'll step up. I only load the 300 grainer and use 22 grains of H110. This is good for around 1400 fps from my 7.5" SRH. I'd think around 20 grains would be a good place to start. Also head over to the Hodgden site. They have info now on LBT style bullets and recommend 20.8 grains for that bullet.

You don't say what 44mag you have. If you have a Ruger then the H110 loads mentioned should do you well. My Ruger shoots 21.5 grains with a 300 gr. bullet very accurately. However, I would not shoot it every day out of my Smith 629. H110 or WW 296 are regarded as the best for heavy bullets. Peter.
I have a 7-1/2" Ruger Super Redhawk 44mag. I load a 320gr. WFNGC LBT from Cast Performance using 21.0grs. of WW296 with a CCI 350mag.large pistol primer and Federal cases. Load chronographed at 1300fps. with an extreme spread of 14fps. This load showed no high pressure signs in my gun. Cast Performance has starting load data for their bullets with every box. They have the data on their website too. www.castperformance.com
18 gr. of VV N110 and large pistol primer. Fired bucketfulls of this bullet with this load in my M29, M94 and now a Red Hawk. Amazingly accurate but hard on the guns and on my hand, wrist and elbow.

I have a Ruger 7-1/2" Super Redhawk in 44 mag. I load a 320gr. LBT WFNGC from Cast Performance Bullet Co. using 21.5 grs. of 296 and a Winchester large pistol primer. This load chronographs at 1350fps in my gun with no high pressure signs.
By the way W296 and H110 are identical powders made by the same company - New River Energetics.
The replies are extremely close to my favorite loading of the 300g sierra Soft Point and 21g H 110. This is a maximum load in my Dan Wesson 44V That should give you and idea where to start.
