22-250 Ackley Help
I'm having my very old Weatherby 22-250 re-barreled and chambered to 22-250 AI.
I currently use RL15 and 52 Amax for foxing. Can anyone recommend a good load for the AI?
Thank you

johnny, i would use the max load data for the 22/250 and work up.
I never loaded any reloader powder but the H414 @ 42grs was a one hole load for my 22/250Ai
always start low and work up
You can get in trouble fast with only a couple tenths of a grain change.

IMR 4895 is an ideal 22-250 Ackley powder in almost any bullet weight.

"Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

Another vote for IMR 4895 starting around 35gr.

I'm using 38gr of Varget from Nosler #5.Haven't run it over the chrony(list velocity 50grBT is 3730fps).It gives me 1/2 to 3/4" grps @ 200yds. Monashee

40 grains of 4895 and a 50 bullet 4085 fps across chrony. This load eats crows.

You can use the starting loads for a 220 swift for starting loads in the 22-250AI.What twist does your rifle have?Mine has 1-9 and does not like the light bullets,it tears them up.

I punched a 1-14" Weatherby Varmintmaster to 22-250AI and thunk pretty highly of it,as blued/walnut goes.

Re-15 is where it's at.

Go 1-8" and live a little.

Who's 1-9" tube? My 1-9" Hart and 1-7.7" Kreiger dote on 50gr V-Max at 4000fps+.

Though happiness is the 75A-Max at 3500fps.
