Anybody else tried 27.3 grains of BENCHMARK and 40 grain Nosler BT's? Have tried it in 2 guns...xp-100 and T/C Contender carbine and it was a rather special load! The T/C was for a friend this PM and the OAL was 2.299 and they went into 1/2 inch at 100 yards!! Me being a bolt action, heavy barreled, varmint hunting fool, I was amazed! It was one thing if I shot it but I let him shoot it too and same results!! Maybe had something to do with me making him break the barrel in too!!! My experience in the xp was about the same....can't expect anymore from it!! May have to use a little more of this powder in the little guys!!! GHD

G'Hog; Yeah, I started using that about 2 yrs ago when they first brought it out. I had not had the luck I was expecting with Varget, but sure got it in Benchmark. However I have found for best accuracy you need to have it at 27 grains plus in a 223 case. All of my 223 rifles are happiest with 28 grains with the 40/45 grain bullets. Recommending it to a few guys has really tightened up groups for them out of their rifles. welcome to the club.

seafire, After using VARGET in a big assortment of cartridges...223,222MAG ,243 ,243AI, 25-06,260 ,7mm/08,300SAUM,(Not enough room for smiley faces here), I was quite astounded with the Benchmark in the little guys!!! Give me some IMR 3031 and I can make your gun shoot!!!.. Probably not like I can with VARGET...and then I tried some BENCHMARK!! Will have to do more testing with this one! Them guys just may have hit on something with this one! Anybody out there who hasn't tried VARGET...get some! Most amazing thing since sliced bread! Then they made BENCHMARK!!! Now how about Re-10????? GHD
