I just tried a load in two different sporterized military rifles and it shot 1/2 MOA at a 100 yards in both of them. One is a 1903 with 22 inch barrel and the other a Mod 98 DUV 42 with 24 inch barrel. Both rifles were acquired at Pawn Shops which is not normally where you find 1/2 MOA rifles. I therefore suspect something great about this load. 200 gr Nosler Accubond in Win cases, with 56.0 gr of AA3100, WLR primers. The Springfield 1903 used an OAL of 3.345, whereas the Mauser used 3.295 OAl in deference to the magazine lengths and the location of the rifling. This load is right out of the Nosler Manual, Fifth Edition, except that the Accubond was not available when the manual was printed. With the high ballistic coefficient of this bullet, I expect that at +3.0 @ 100 yds, it'll be +1.6 @ 200 and -6.7 @ 300 yards with plenty of energy to boot. Try it, you'll like it. | ||
