I keep a powder measure set up to throw 20.0 grains of H-110. I use it under Sierra 210 JHPs (or JHCs)and under 250 grain lead gas checked bullets. The 210 load is used for most everything except when I am camping in black bear country. Then the heavier load is used just so I sleep better. Come to think of it I think I used the same powder charge in my 45 Colt Blackhawk and both 44 mag S&Ws. I have two S&W Model 57s now and either loves these loads.

210 gr Hornady XTPs over 20.5 grs W296 rolled up in Win brass and sparked by Fed 150s. Working on some CP 255 gr hard-cast WFNGC loads with the same powder. ------------------ "Did you use excessive force?---I HIT IT WITH EVERYTHING I HAD!

For my 6.5 in blackhawk I have develpoed a couple favorite loads. 20 gr of AA#9 Under a 170 Sierra JHC great accuracy and speed. 9.5 gr of Unique under a 220 Speer SP, shoots 2.5 in groups or less at 50 yds with open sights, good midrange deer load. 19.5 gr 296 under the 265 WFN GC LBT from Cast Performance, put one through a large mule doe last fall shot her in the front shoulder quartering toward me, bullet exited out rear ham. Load is overkill for Deer, but makes a great elk and blackbear load.
