I'm hitting all the sections of AR asking for some help from someone with Quickload for a starting load for my 404 Jeffery. I want to try the French Nobel Sport Vectan Tubal 5000 powder with the NorthFork 380 grain cup point solid. There are no reloading tables with the French powders for the 404, much less with NorthFork bullets. Can Quickload calculate a starting load? Will somebody with Quickload be willing to work it up?

Dan,

Wildboar in Italy has come up with some Quickload calculations for me for another French powder, SP11, which is close in burn rate to TU 5000. I'll try the SP 11 loads first and then extrapolate easily to TU 5000. His Quickload software doesn't have any of the single based powders from France, only the double based.

I have now corresponded with the author of Quickload in Germany. His software includes the the ball double based powders sold under the French Nobel Sport Vectan name because they are made in Belgium and the manufacturer released the required information to him. Nobel Sport refuses to release to him the information required for the French made single based powders in the Tubal series. Apparently it's top secret. Anyway, that is why they aren't included in Quickload.

77 grains of Tubal 5000 gives me 2,350 fps with the NorthFork 423-380 CPS.

Wink, a French friend of mine, few years ago, phoned SNPE (Nobel sport) for some info about powders; they simply refused to talk to him thumbdown
