Although I know we're supposed to be doing the BP and lead routine with the bores of pre 1890.I found the following to work very well in my 1885,no pressure,and wildly accurate out of a totally skidood bore..Trimmed some 45/70 RP brass down to 1.890. 30 grains of imr 4759 and a cci mag primer seem to give the same flash burn as BP.Used 300 gr sierra's cause their super soft..1/2" at 50 meters 1 1/4" at 100 meters(slight breeze at the 100..Theres guys at the range not doing that with modern stuff..Oh ya 1720-1730 FPS
