A friend of mine purchased a 24" T/C stainless barrel and is having trouble getting groups under 3". Do you have any pet loads that I can share with him. He is wanting to shoot 120 gr. bullets or less to keep speed up. Thanks

Man, I have a pistol in that caliber that is so accurate that I would cry if I bought the rifle and it did that. I really suspect something wrong with the rifle or scope etc. There is a website that I am a member of that has quite a bit of info on the "waters" I pay a small membership to be there and if you want to e-mail me Iwill go in (password protected) and try and e-mail you some pages. Not sure if it will work or not but if you are interested e-mail me here at work at farmacy@tds.net. d kraky

Kraky, What bullet and powder combo are you using in your Waters? Always interested in what other people shoot in their Waters barrels. Thanks, bobg

I'm at work and don't have my records here but I know it's the sierra accuracy load with their 130 grain pistol bullet and the powder is i4895. I've had great luck with w748 also. The darn gun just plain shoots everything. If you guys are interested in that website its "loaddata.com". I think a membership was less than $20 and maybe as cheap as $10. They had a whole bunch of loads there for the 7-30.

i have a stock stainless 7-30 carbine barrel and use 140 sierras in it with the load book charge of rl15.. my barrel will not shoot hornady 139 flat bases, sst or speer 145 gr but loves sierra 140's and nosler bal tips.. i don't use the balistic tips because of past poor performance on hogs & deer but thry shoot really well
