I own and shoot a .35Whelen in a Rem. 7600 and a Mark X with a 1;14 TWIST Shaw bbl. Both rifles like a load of 53.0 (gr.)/H4895/CCI 200/Rem. (brass)/250Spt Speer @ 2460 to 2500fps. The Mark X has a 23.6 inch bbl., by-the-way, and I've used this load in virtually all temperatures without any pressure signs. Another load I like for both rifles is: 55.0/AA2520/CCI 200/Rem./200Spt Hornady @ 2560 to 2585fps. It's a fairly moderate load, but works great on deer and such. I gave up on nickel plated brass for top loads because they seem to be rather brittle. I also like Reloader 15 a lot, but find that the data published by Reloaders to be somewhat "hot" in my Mark X when approaching anywhere near max (no problem in the Rem 7600 - go figure). Thanks for the loads you posted.

an interesting load that is VERY accurate in my rifle involves the stubby little 150gr that was designed for the 350 mag... RP brass, WW large rifle primers, 56.0 gr of Rel 7, seated to the cannelure.. gave an overall length of 3.055... gave a velocity of just under 3200fps... first 3 shots went into .452", the next 4 shots opened it up to 1.3" at 100yds. This ought to be excellent on deer.. I plan on trying it next season, if all goes well.

In this custom M1917 Enfield .35 Whelen, [image]http://www.handloads.com/gallery/file.asp?ID=497[/image] I use 53.0 gr IMR 3031 with a 200 gr Hornady PSP in .30-06 R-P brass with a CCI LR primer. It shoots 1/2" groups at 100 yards from a rest with an original Weaver. It isn't the fastest, but it is more than adequate for anything I will encounter in Texas. Well, I don't know what's wrong with the image. If you want to see it, the location is correct.
