180 TTSX, 71g of RL22, great accuracy and 3050 fps. The rifle is a pre 64 M70/24" lilja/echols legend stock.

A true classic rifle and caliber. I envy you. "300 Win mag loaded with a 250 gr Barnes made a good deer load". Elmer Keith

thanks! I bought a nice old model 70 in 300 H&H (all original) this early summer. I'll have to try this one out. Be interesting to see if my 26" barrel adds any velocity.

My '52 M70 likes a 180 or 200 nosler partition and a charge of H 4350. They both, with a tiny bit of tweaking, print ~MOA groups from the bench. I did steel bed the stock/action, as it was cracked and is a drift wood quality specimen to boot.... The 200 produced 2885 fs which was really surprising as I did not stuff a max charge in anyway.

I have a Ruger No.1-S in 300 H&H. It shoots MOA with 168 Barnes TTSX , 70.0 gr. Rel 22 and Fed. 215 primers. I haven't got around to chronographing it yet. So far it has accounted for one Texas whitetail, one cow elk and one 18 year old black bear, one shot each. I'll never sell that rifle. Craftsman
