Would like to know if any of you guys have a favorite load for the Imp version of the 280. The only data I have currently is the Nosler manual. Thanks in advance for any info provided.

Steve,
I have tried several powders since I had my 280ack built. For light bullets 120X's and for 140
Nosler's I use H4350 120 64.5( 3390) & 62.5 for the 140's ( 3220 )My rifle is throated out so my oal is 3.400 for these bullets. Approach them by starting low and working up. With 150,160 or 175's I use IMR-7828 64.5 for 150, 63.5 for 160, 61.5 for 175's. All use fed 210 primers. These may seem very hot to most but in my rifle they work very well and accuracy is under MOA for all these loads.Remember that each rifle is an individual and what works for me might not work well for you or maybe needs to be loaded a little lighter. Thanks for the info guys. It's good to use a manual but I also like to see what works for others and that gives me a better idea on what powders will do the best. You guys know the drill. I'll see if I can work up to some of these loadings. Thanks again, I'm fast forgetting what my other favorite rifle was, I think it was a 30-0something or the other.

I keep checking back on this post for new data it all seems to be good. I have loaded some of the listings and have gotten some very good results. Some showed pressure signs before getting to the listed data, but that is just my rifle. Man I sure love the 280 AI.

Steve E., have you tried the N165 yet? My rifle has a shorter throat and this load should be fine in your rifle, I chronographed this load at 3206 fps, w/5 shot groups well under the 1" mark.
