RL19, somewhere around 72.5 grains. Depends on what your rifle likes.

Mine likes this. I've taken quite a likin' to RL19. There are four rifles in my family that like it real well - a 257 Rob, .257 AI, 6.5X55, and my .338. If you can get it down under, try it.

In both the 340 & 338, R-19 is the best for velocity and accuracy in my rifles.

My favorite load has been Nosler 250 gr. partitions (old style) with Norma MRP (75.0 grs)
This load has given me 1/2" groups at 200 yards.

If you use this load work up to it as it is a safe maximum load in my rifle. Yours might be different.

Focus on the leading edge!

My SS Stalker digest 225 grain projectiles decently with H414 about 67-68 grains worth .

Crony says 2695 - 2740 FPS depending on Air and humidity .

and I am of the older powder crowd I gather..

I prefer 4064, or RL 15, or Varget...

of course I don't even use Magnum primers..

I may give up a 100 fps MV, but I gain a lot in accuracy in my two different 338s, a Model 70 and an ABolt...

My Tikka likes maxs loads of IMR-4350 or RL-22 with 225 gr Hornadys or Barnes X-bullets. (The old Barnes, not the TSX - I haven't tried the TSX yet, since the X-bullets shoot into about a half-inch.)

My .338 and others love my load of 72grs IMR 4350 Federal 215M primers and 225gr Barnes TSX bullets . Incredible accuracy and velocity at 2850fps. My rifle is a Remington with the factory barrel. This load has worked in Winchesters, Tikka's, Sako's and Christensen Arms rifles with equal accuracy.
