Bought a new barrel for my Encore, a 22" heavy in a 350 Rem mag. Anyone out there got any good loads that have been working for you. I will probably stick with 200-225 gr. bullets

I can't say how it will work for you but I have had great luck with the following load. I am using a 225 gr sierra over 57.2 grs of IMR 4320 and a CCI 200 primer my case length is 2.165. My oal is greater than max at 2.895. I am shooting this load out of a Ruger m77 which has a long chamber and magazine to match. This oal length puts me .007 off the rifling. Measure your chamber or stick to the 2.800 max oal. This rifle has a 22 inch barrel as well. I can put three shots into a half inch square at a 100 yards. Not bad for the first load I tried.

Thanks I will give it a try. Have you shot any game with this load, how did it perform?

I took a whtetail doe with it this fall. I hit her quatering away at the second to last rib on the near side and exited the front three ribs on the far side high through the lungs. Bang flop she did not even twitch instantly stonedead. I liquified both lungs. I blew out three ribs on the exit, leaving a fist size exit wound. Needless to say I did not recover the bullet. This was at about 90 yards. Overkill for deer but I don't like following them. Besides I had to try out my new toy, first season for the 350. I hope to do a pig hunt this fall. I think this will be an excellent rifle and load for the job.

I have a MRC 1999 short action, 1:16 twist, 21†that loves the 225gr. Barnes TSS backed by 47.5gr of RL 7 and a Rem 9 ½ primer. The magazine length on the Montana is 3.125 and I seat the bullet out to an OAL of 2.95. I’m getting around 2650 fps. Last year the load took an elk quartering away at around 210 yards. Lung / heart / lung and out the other side.

So far my Ruger 350 likes 59 gr of varget over a 225 gr sierra and lit off with a Federal 210 primer.

Paul H,
I have never tried Varget in the .350. (Stupid ME! It works so well in my .375 H&H.) What type of FPS are you getting with it?
Thank You

Unfortunately my chrony has yet to be replaced after a gascheck mishap Roll Eyes and I have yet to hook up with a buddy who has a chrono. I would expect it to be in the 2600-2700 range, and close to a max load.

I did get a chance to confirm the load, and it prints right around 1" or less for 3 shots. I plan to try some barnes 225 TSX in the future.

225 Nosler Partition

59 grains 4320
OR 60 grains 748

Both about Max...Both very good 1-1.25 MOA depending on LOT Numbers.

250 Speer Spitz.....57 grains 748 gets 3 into .75 MOA or less
