Newtire. Try 28.0 gr. of W-748 with the RCBS #30-180-FN gas check bullet in the 30-30. You get 1950 FPS from a 20" barrel and if your rifle likes it, well it's a real deer stomper. Bullet should weigh right around 190 gr. in wheel weight metal. Paul B.

I use that Win 760 and H-414 in my 30-06 also with a 150 gr. bullet. at about the same charges listed here. H-414 seemed to be just a tad slower, less pressure signs anyway. Very very accurate stuff in a number of '06's I've tried it in. In my .30-30, shooting cast bullet Lyman 311041, I have used 31.5 gr. Win 748 and 30.0 gr. H-335. Those are pretty near top pressure loads for that 30-30 so be real careful. Accuracy was best I ever experienced out of that .30-30 Win. tho.

Can you get the Vectan SP 2 powders where you are? I use it in .45 ACP and .40 S&W with good results. If you can buy it let me know and I'll send some loads. IPSC shooters like it in .38 Super because they get good speed with low pressure.
