My 35 Whelen AI likes 225 grain bullets, and 58.5 grains of H-380 powder, gives me 5/8" groups @ 100 yards.

Mine likes Rem 06 cases, WLR primers,57 grs 4320 topped off with the 225 gr Sierra bullet.Groups around 1 in @ 100yds all day long.This makes quite a little stopper.

Here is my Whelen AI, an Interarms Mark X with 24" Hart stainless barrel and 3-9X Nikon glass.



My two best loads so far are:
1) the 225 Nosler PT at 2725 fps over 57.5 gr. Accurate 2520 and WLR primer in Remington cases, and
2) the 250 Hornady SP at 2560 fps over 56 gr. Varget, same primer and case. Both to 3.34" OAL.

My 35 whelen AI started out as a pre 64 win super grade 06 with a beat up stock now it has a 25" barrel nice black stock sworski 2.5x10 scope shoots just under 2" at 200 yds powder VV N540 WLR primers 200 gr barnes tsx 60 gr with 225 gr swift and nosler part. 59.5 three different ak moose shot through chest and the bullets were bulging just under the hide on of side sholder 225gr. this rifle is going back to AK in sept. good luck to you Kevin.
