I'm considering developing a load using this bullet in my 22-250, expressly for Coyotes. From what I hear, they are more fragile then the polymer tipped bullets, that most people seem to shoot. Has anyone had any experiance with these bullets? They are super cheep, how is the accuracy, terminal performance? How about any pet loads? Thanks for any imput.

I started shooting them on prairie dogs last summer. They are very accurate in 223, and are very impressive on impact. But over 3400 fps with 1-9 twist they will disintegrate in flight. At 3320 fps they work great for me.

Thomas, They work beautifully in my 1-9" .223 (very explosive on p-dogs), but I doubt they'll stay together above 3400fps. George

My Rem. M700 has a nice smooth barrel that came off of a 40X and I have pushed the TNTs to over 3600fps. But I have had them blow up on a coyotes ribs at 3300fps out of a 223. For shooting the dogs it hard to beat the 55gr. Sierra SP or the Speer in the same weight out of a 22/250 or Swift. Call em in close_____Pete

Thomas Kind of depends on how tight the bore is when loading most 45 and 50-grain bullets for 22-250, as to just how fast you can push them, I like Pete, have always had better performance out of 55 grain bullets. They will actually shoot flatter at longer range, and have always seemed to be more accurate. As for 222 and 223 I don't think you can beat the 50-grainer. One of my pet loads for 22-250 was 35 grains of IMR 4895 with a 55-grain Sierra SP, velocity was around 3,585 fps, if your bore is a little tight when cold you may get a little better grouping with a charge between 34.5 and 35 grains of IMR 4895. The best grouping and performance I found for my 22-250's was with nosler 55-grain solid base PSP, and 35.5 grains of IMR 4895 with a velocity was around 3,636 fps. Think about all you can find now in the 55-grain solid base noslers is ballistic tips. You can push the nosler solid base a little faster; facts are they seem to like the higher speed better.
