Hiya I found a load for my sons 7mm-08 Mod7 that is amazing. Three round groups averaging from 1/4 to 3/8 inches at 100 yds. R-P cases Fed 210 primer Reloader 15 powder 44.5 grains Nosler 120 gr. Balistic Tip 2.800 C.O.L. 2850 fps average. Velocities taken with an Oehler Mod 33 chronograph 15 from muzzle. This all started when my 13 year old son wanted to try and find some loads for medium size game using lighter bullets to extend the effective range of his 7mm-08 a little bit. Factory 140s only exit the 18.5 bbl barely over 2600 fps, which is fine for typical hunting where you run into game under 100 yds, but We wondered why this rifle couldnt be used in more open country and even for antelope. I contacted Nosler and asked them about their 7mm 120 gr BT and they said it was very much a big game bullet and not a varmint bullet and that the 120 gr would be ideal for my application. So I gave it a whirl.. Glad I did. Looks like my son will be going antelope hunting with me after all.. Ill do some work with this at 300 yds and see what happens.. | ||

You can also use RE15 for the 140-150gr bullets, BTs, MKs and get similar results, Varget works very well, too. And 140-150 grainers will work better on larger game. I'm currently using 39grs RE15 with 150MKs and 39.5grs. of Varget with 150BTs, the first two shots usually go in the same hole, 5 shots group in the low to mid 4s, them 708s sure shoot don't they.
