| 140 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip over 41.0 grains of Varget works WONDERFULLY out of my rifle.
It's not max velocity, so you have a little room to work, but the accuracy is top-notch. |

| 42 grains of Varget with a 140 Nosler BT. Not the fastest, but very accurate in my son's A-bolt. |

| Results from 9/9/04-
T/C Encore with 24" barrel Winchester brass-fireformed and neck resized with Lee Collet die & factory crimp die. Federal 215 mag rifle primers. Barnes 140 grain TSX.
Powder-Varget 39.5 grains-2666 fps 41.0 grains-2766 fps 41.5 grains-2785 fps 42.0 grains-2820 fps 42.5 grains-2853 fps
I didn't measure group size but they were between 1 and two inches. I was looking mainly for data from the chrono and will now load up a bunch of rounds at 42.5 grains(my best group) and go back to the range for another session. |

| Steve, On those Barnes bullets, did you seat them .040"-.050" off the rifling or closer? I have two 7mm rifles and a box of the 140tsx to load but was wondering if the "start .050" off the rifling" rule held with the tsx or not. BM
Bill
PS: why the magnum primers with Varget? |

| 40.0 grains of H335 in my BLR has proven accurate with Hornady 139-grain Interlocks. Just took a Bighorn Sheep with this load. Was going to load up the same with Interbonds but killed the sheep first. |

| My rifle is a Remington M-7.
I have used R-P nickle plated brass, Rem 9 1/2primers, 45.0 grains of Accurate Arms MRP (3100) and 139 grain Hornady spire points for several years now, works for me! |

| Has anyone out there tried a 175 grain Partition out of their 7mm-08? How did it work? Any load data?
I have heard numerous reports of the 175 grain Par. tumbling out of 7mm magnums. JB over on 24 hr campfire, for one. Could rate of twist be the culprit?

| I have a model 70 compact in 7mm-08. It has a 20 inch barrel. I have loaded the Hornaday 175 spire points and did some crono work. Didn't test for accuracy. I used 42 grains of H4350, and crimped on the canalure. Turned out exactly the standard overall length. I got 2350 fps average (give or take 10fps). I was surprised as I expected about 2275. |

| H-414 or W-W 760, Winchester Large Rifle primer, and anybody's 139 grain to 154 grain bullet. These two powders, which are essentially the same powder, are naturals in this caliber. |

| Just a little info on H414 and WW760 powder. I know a person who manufactures ammo for a living. He buys powder in small barrels (20 lb. I think). One side of the barrel has a WW760 label on it and the other side of the same barrel has a H414 label. I wonder how many other powders are the same? |

| I use a Remington 700 7mm08 with Barnes 140 TSX and IMR 4895 and CCI 200 primers. I use 43.5 grains of the IMR 4895 and get 5/8 groups at 100 yds. This is one grain over max since the new TSX has less pressure than normal and I get 2820 FPS. All rifles are different so don't start this hot. Your rifle may not like it. |

| I used H414, Varget and IMR 3031 in all the reloading I done for this caliber. H414 I used more then the ladder with 139gr to 154 gr bullets. I tried 41grs of IMR 3031 with 100gr Hornady Hollow Point makes one nice little hole at a 100 yards.44grs of H414 with 154 and 150gr bullets not a heavy load but they bin affective on Whitetail.
I miss hunting in B.C.

| Myself and one of my hunting buddies both have the Kimber M84 in 7-08. Would not shoot for sour owl excretion, either one, till we tied a 140 gr. Barnes triple shock with 45.0 gr. IMR 4350. Both now shoot 100 yd. 1/2" groups, but only 4 shots, as the light barrels heat up too quickly. But for hunting, this is plenty good enough, and our load developement is done. |
