While I'm sure I didn't invent the wheel here, I had to post this magic little combo: 1940's Husqvarna 30-06 (mid grade, 23" barrel, 1 in 12 twist) Winchester once fired factory brass 125gr Nosler Ballistic Tip 51gr of H4895 WLR Primer OAL: 3.255" Temp: 80 F and a light breeze Until I got to this load I had tried a range of IMR-4350 and some lighter charges of H4895. Mid-level 4350 was looking promising. That's until I popped off the load above. I couldn't believe my scope. Not until I walked to the target did I a see tight cluster of 4 holes in a perfect cross. 4 at the corners, just far enough apart to keep them all touching, the 5th one could only have gone through the center. This rifle is my father-in-law's and he wanted something a litlte lighter for an afternoon of pleasant shooting. This is it. I'll be loading a big batch of that for him. If someone could run QuickLOAD on this for me I'd really appreciate it. Book says 3110fps w/ 50.5gr and 24" barrel.

Gonzo, I've also had good luck with 125's in an 06. I use 61.5g of H4831SC under a sierra 125g.(This is a max load but pressure is still mild @ 40,000cup as per Lyman 46th edition). Shoots nice but I wondered if the short bullets would stay stabilized at longer ranges so I tried the at 300 yards. Got 2 consecutive 2 1/2" 3 shot groups. I'm sure your husky with it's slow twist would do better. Have fun. KevD
