Does anyone use Re15 in 223 Rem. I have a couple of Lbs of the powder left over from using in my 470NE which I have sold. "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick."

Thanks for that. Have you ever used it in 223Rem? I use Loaddata.com for references. Cheers

Great thanks. I have 1.5 cans of Varget. I used H322 in my 222Rem for 25 years. Sold it.

Hi Naki, if you happen to have any AR2206H aka H4895 powder, it is a good one for the 223. Sierra list 26.1grs H4895 with 55gr bullets as the best hunting load giving 3300fps MV from all powders they tested. I have loaded 25.5grs AR2206H with the Sierra 65gr bullet for my sons Ruger 223 with which he has shot quite a few deer and feral goats. Sierra's max loading for their 63gr bullet with H4895 is 25.3grs for top MV of 3100fps. Sierra lists loads for Varget too giving top velocities for bullets 63grs and heavier but for the lighter bullets max Varget loads are off the pace compared to AR2206H/H4895. The 223 pages from Sierra's 5th edition manual are available in PDF on the web if you search, if you haven't got Sierra data.

Thanks mate. No luck with AR2206H. I got some AR2219 (H322) and found a kg now plus half kg. Total 2 kg enough for 1200 rounds "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick."

I load 27 gr of RL 15 in my .223 using 55 gr bullets. I get 3060 fps. Accuracy is just over MOA.

Reloader 15 can be used from the small bores to your 470 NE and larger with good performance. It is somewhat difficult to come by here in the U.S. at present. You should have great interest to sell over there. I have used it extensively with my 375 H&G and 35 Wheleb. Great powder. Geoff Shooter

I have got more powder, primers and projectiles. I opened one of my lockers and found an unopened can of H322. I scored a Kilo of AR2219 (H322). I exchanged a brick of F210 primers for WSR. A mate gave me 3 packets of various projectiles.

One year on, I have got AR2219 (H322), AR2206H (H4895) & AR2208 (Varget) plus Re15. I've settled on 60gr Hornady SP & VMax and 63 Gr Sierra SMP. Both Hornady bullets give good accuracy - sub 1 inch 5 shot groups at 100 meters. the 63 gr is not as accurate- more like 2 inches. I've put on a suppressor and a Thermal scope that I can swap anytime. "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick."

What's the twist rate of your 223, possibly not ideal for the longer heavier bullets? Sons Ruger American is 1:8 giving excellent accuracy with the heavier 65gr Sierra.

Mine is the standard 1:12 inch twist in a Tikka T3X Superlite Aspire. I need to test the 63gr Sierra SMP further or just forget it. I am reading good reports about the Hornady 60 gr SP as performing well on small deer and pigs. I might just stick to that one bullet for everything.

Naki, emailed you a copy of Sierra's reloading data for the 223, they comment a bit on twist rates for their various bullet weights. You may have it already. Sounds as though your 1:12 twist should be okay for Sierra bullets up to 63grs but not their longer matchkings.
