I've always been a bit skeptical about "Pet Loads" that are purported to work well in a bunch of different weapons but this combo has proved a humdinger in four different 30-06s so far so it's time to eat a little crow. It's a warm load so start at 48gr or so and work up. 52gr of IMR4320, standard rifle primer, and Barnes 150gr TSX or TTSX boattails loaded to just kiss the rifling has hovered at or under and inch in a Ruger 77MkII, two Win M70s, and one Rem 700. Between the two 22" and 24" barrels, the load is averaging 3025fps at the muzzle with 3000 common in the 22s and 3050 in the 24s. I've loaded it in both Federal and R-P commercial brass with two different types of sizing dies (Lee collet and RCBS FL) and two types of seaters (Forster BR and RCBS standard). | ||
