Just got a new .300 RUM. Will try your recipe as soon as I get a scope for it.

Also considering Gerards 150gr HVs.

How fast could you push a 130 in this thing?

i aint sure but would expect around 3750 from the 130s. had thought about trying the 130 x for whitetails but i doubt it would shoot in my gun as the throat and twist is made for 180s. the 150s and 165s shoot real well though so the 130s might but i think i will just go with the 150s.

mine likes 165gr nosler BT and 96gr h1000 at 3375 fps this is the most accurate hunting load and is close to max in my rifle. RL25 shoots the same bullet some what faster but not as accurate. I have tried RL22 H4831 and Imr 7828 but these faster powders have not worked as well for me. Another favorite is 180 Sierra game king and RL25 93gr at 3275 fps.

I could hardly believe my eyes when I shot the first group of RL 25 and 180 gr barnes X's. 94 grs grouped a touch over 1 in @ 150 yds. 95 grains went into a 3/4 in group.Loaded more of 95 grs and the groups are still 3/4 inch. Factory ammo with the noslers was grouping a little under 2 in @ 150.Loads with 7828 were about the same.Best part of the RL 25 load is point of impact is the same as the factory loads with Noslers.I think that should make an acceptable hunting load.

tried the 180 sierra gameking with 95 gr rl25 today.shoots 2 inch groups at 300 yards at 3425 fps.it only drops 1.5 inches more at 400 than the 150 load with less wind drift and alot more energy.may have to change my favorite load.the 150s at 3611 kinda worried me on close shots anyways.this is an awesome round.22-250 trajactory with 340 weatherby energy.
