What are some of your favorite 165 and 180 gr. loads? I am going elk hunting this fall and to date have only loaded whitetail loads...Thanks

76-77 grs of RL22, 180 gr Nosler Partition, Winchester magnum primers, 2950-3000 fps and accutate in my rifle. Work up to these loads.

I topped out at 75gr of RL-22 with some old Antiques I found at a gunshow. You might also try a 200gr AccuBond. I got a SUPER accurate load at 71gr of RL-22, but 72gr was almost as good so I'm going with a grain's worth more speed.

Good luck with hunt.

I have to agree with Mauser98, if a 300Win mag doesn,t shoot with this load then there could be problems.

I used 78 grains of R-22 with the 180 ballistic tip @3075 fps in a ruger 77 300 win mag. This was a max load for me.

These were federal nickel cases and cci 200 primers.
