Has any one used Benchmark powder in the 308 Win with 165/168 grain bullets?

No,but I use Benchmark in my 45-70 Guide Gun with great results. 62.5 grains and the Nosler 300 grain protected point (partition) I get 2100 fps and under an inch groups at 100 yards.

Haven't tried 308 Win/165/168s, but tried 308 Win/150s with, in my opinion, unsatisfactory results. Too fast for the 308/150 combination. I'm using 4895 with the 150s (again) and like RL15 with the 190s. Either of those would probably work well with 168s, and Varget is definitely worth a try.

I have used Benchmark with OK results in 223 Rem/40NBT, and 260 Rem/120NBT, both 15" pistol barrels. Haven't tried Benchmark in the 6PPC yet, but imagine that's where most of it will get burned up.

Regards, Bill

My favorite is RL 15/ 44.0 and 165 SBT, but I thought about trying N140 or 540, I heard this is better than RL 15

I have used the benchmark powder in my rem7mag. I get good groups with 175gr Hornady/55grain & 140gr spitzer/50grain.
