I have a ruger Hawkeye in 338 Fed that I love to hunt with. The best accuracy loads I've been able to develop are: 200 grain accubond, BR-2 primer, 50 grains of LeverRevolution powder and a Federal case. 2525 fps average. 200 grain speeer soft point, Winchester primer, 48 grains of Win748 powder and a Federal case. 2460 fps. 160 grain Barnes TSX, Winchester powder, 49 grains of AA2230 and a Federal case. 2750 fps...very, accurate with most holes touching or nearly touching Anybody else have some favorites to share?

I have found that 40.7 grains of IMR 8208 gives me .5 @100, 1.5 @200 and 2-2.5 @300. These are very consistent groups. Rifle is an M70 243 rebored by JES. Oh using 210 partitions.

Anyone shooting CFE-223 in the .338 Federal? Seems it might be good for this round. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. I wish everyone the world over had the dominating spirit that motivates Texans.– Billy Clayton, Speaker of the Texas House No state commands such fierce pride and loyalty. This is a very useful cartridge that deserves more attention. Lane, I'll keep an eye out for CFE-223 data. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author
