These loads were extrapolated based off conversations with Alliant. For the 175 Sierra start at 50 grains and work up. My max for this bullet is set at 54 grains. There's more in the boiler room, however. For the 180 Nosler start at 49 grains and work up. My max for the 180 Nosler is set at 53 grains. I am currently working on an accurate 52.5 grain loading (2680 ft/sec), but need a couple more testing cycles in varying conditions. So far this is an outstanding powder for the 8x57mm. I am also continuing to work out 150 grain and 185 grain loads with Pro-2000MR for 2014. 175gr Sierra PH 53 grains Pro-2000MR Average Velocity: 2669 (ft/sec) 3.07 OAL CCI200 Primer Nosler Case Accuracy: .45" avg (100 yards) 175gr Sierra PH 54 grains Pro-2000MR Average Velocity: 2722 (ft/sec) 3.07 OAL CCI200 Primer Nosler Case Accuracy: .67" avg (100 yards) 180gr Nosler BT 51 grains Pro-2000MR Average Velocity: 2575 (ft/sec) 3.07 OAL CCI200 Primer Nosler case Accuracy: .66" avg (100 yards) 200gr Partition 45 grains IMR4064 Average Velocity: 2428 (ft/sec) 3.05 OAL WLR Primer WW case Accuracy: .61" avg (100 yards) 200gr Partition 46.8 grains N-203b Average Velocity: 2500 (ft/sec) 3.07 OAL WLR Primer WW case Accuracy: .96" avg (100 yards)

I'm just working on a 8mm, 150 Horn SP load right now. WW748, 55.5 gr, 94%,(slightly below Hornady manual), ~3062 QL data, 2.43" case 3.05" COAL...just off the lands...Military M98 Oberndorf, converted, polished /reblued, Timney trigger, Buehler low safety, I trued the muzzle and re-crowned, 23.6" stock military barrel, bedded receiver and free floated barrel and fantastically beautiful tiger stripe maple stock. Accuracy is so-so...1 1/2 - 2". I haven't chrono'ed yet, rain/snow isn't helping. I want to try a bullet in the 165-180 weight range so I'm looking at the 175 Sierra and PRVI PARTIZAN. Thanks fore posting all that excellent 8mm data.

The 175 Sierra as always work very well for me. I do have a bunch of the Prvi 175's, just havent got to them. I am waiting for the new 8mm Hornady 170 SST to get it on the range this year. Midway is showing them overdue. I ran into a bunch of Speer 150's and will be pairing them with W748, Big Game, CFE223, Pro-2000mr, IMR 4895, N203b, and IMR 3031 this year.

I use 54.5 grs of CFE-223 with the 175 in my 8x57 and and the 200 gr. Nosler in my 8x60 with that load..Its by far the best powder Ive used in my long 30-06 length magazines, and long throats to match Brno mod 21 and 22 8x57 and 8x60, These are max load, not to be used in standard 8x57s..I get 2704 FPS with a 200 gr. Nosler in the 8x60 and 2599 FPS in the 8x57..Start at 50 grs and work up slowly. Im having a hard time showing the 8x60 has any better performance than the 8x57 but Im flying by the seat of my pants with the 8x60 and all the data out there is very weak, just like that of the 8x57. Ive been able to go beyond all the 8x60 loads Ive been able to locate all of which are with all the old powders..Some of the new powders are beyond the old stuff.. Im having best velocity and accuracy with CFE-223..in my 8x57 and 8x60 Brno mod. 21 and 22.. Your 2000MR looks good also, but have not used it as yet.. Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com

Other than reloading for friends I never had much use for this caliber; nothing wrong with it except was so massively plain that it didn't spur my interest. Not so with the 8X56 M/S. In that, I used the 180 G. exclusively. Never mistake motion for action.

I get 2700 FPS with 180 gr. Nosler Balistic tips in my 8x57 mod. 22 Brno, about the same as my 30-06...Both calibers are equal in the field, on targets, and whatever else..The cross section of bullet goes to the 8mm, but SD goes to the longer bullet in the 30-06, if Ive ever seen a "push", the comparison in the 8x57, 8x60 and the 06 is one..Thats one of the reasons I went with a 8mm/06 Ackely Imp. with my Brno mod 21 in 8x60, the other reason was I can foresee a lack of components for the all but dead 8x60s future, even though its a viable caliber..but just another name for the 8x57, some say you add 5% to the 8x60, but if you do your pushing its string to the limit..thats guess and by gosh advise according to my results, best to use 8x57 max loads in the 8x60 and you won't be disappointed on deer and elk and most pG. Is a Mauser M-98 action, as strong as say a Rem M-700 or Win M-70? I have a Russian capture M-98, which is of course all re-assembled components from multiple rifles. Curious of the relative strength of that action? And I just bought, but haven't received as yet, a Zastava M-70 in 8x57.
