After a lot of years I finally found the most accurate load for my 44 mag.( Ruger Blackhawk) I was given the 46th Manual of Lyman Reloading and there it was. 429215 Lyman Bullet with Gas check and lubed. 9.3 Grains of WW 231, WW Standard Pistol Primer. Yes, you have to cast your own.Regards Marlin

That load is listed in the Lyman cast boolit book also, and was VERY accurate in my 10" TC and my "old" blue New Model Blackhawk(nothing but . . . NOTHING is accurate in my "new" SS New Model Black Hawk). Great load. I have two of those molds and when I cast with them one cast much more accurate boolits. It is also the first mold I purchased back in 66. Now if I could just figure oue out which one it is and sell the extra. Cast off shoot of time!@! Don't limit your challenges . . . My absolute most favorite load in my S&W M-29 44 mag. is the same load i've used for over 30 years. I've hunted and harvested much big game with this load, from moose on down to rabbits. I've won more long range pistol matches with this combo than i can recount, and i've seen others on line say that's it's there "most favorite" 44 mag. load too... The load is, 23.0 of H-110 over a cci mag. primer. The bullet is my own cast 250 grain "KT" style bullet (RCBS mould) sized to .430" and lubed with ALOX. The lead alloy i use is wheel weights with just enough pure tin added to make the bullets so i can "just scratch" the bullet with my thumb nail. I have no reason to change a thing even after all these years of useing it... DM
