Pete, this rifle is capable of such a broad range of ammunition it's hard to know where to start.

I did wonders with Herco and Blue Dot and 2400 in my carbine, if these powders are available.
Actually I prefered a 170 gr. cast bullet. Deadly on deer and shot from 38 case! [Smile]

I have been shooting 158 LSWC with 25 gr LIL'GUN in my 38 specials modified to shoot 357 mag brass.
I have been getting an extremely high velocity with no pressure signs other than needing magnum primers.

I have loaded up Blue Dot, AA#9, H110, Bullseye, and LONGSHOT until the primer flowed, the cases stuck, the frame bent, or the cylinder split.
None of these powders have come close, well maybe H110 has come close.

I find the good ol' Elmer keith load of 15 grains of Alliant 2400 behind a 158 gr. Cast SWC is awesome in my Model 94 Trapper. Accurate and powerful.
