I have built 3 of these and none have been fired as of yet, does any one have some experence with this round. How well do they shoot on factory rounds, and any loading data you have. [Big Grin] [Roll Eyes] [Confused]

SBB:
Well just so happens that I went out and shot my new M70 Coyote 270WSM yesterday! A good friend and I both bought Coyotes in 270WSM so we were finally able to go out and see what these rifles will do, I bought 130gr Ballistic tips and he bought 150gr Power Points. I've read where a couple guys got sub-MOA out of the box using the 130gr Ballistic tips, so I was already to be impressed! Well it didn't happen. I sure didn't get sub-MOA out of the box but a very acceptable 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" (First twenty rounds through the gun!) 3-shot groups and scrubbed spotless between each group and 4 rounds for the last group with average velocity of 3212fps to 3240fps.
My partner using the 150 power-points shot better groups! (He always shoots better than I do off the bench!) he stayed right under 1 1/4" and one was just a hair over 1" but the really amazing thing was his velocity didn't vary more that 5fps, 3068fps dang near every time I looked at the chronograph with factory ammo! We did try a couple hand loads but with so little data available at this time, (We don't have the newest Sierra, Hornady, or Nosler books yet.) Nosler does have thier data on thier web site though. So we just kind of made educated guesses with our loads and the distance off the lands was just what we have had good results in previous guns. (Seated .0010 to .0012" off the lands) here's some of the loads we tried;
63gr IMR4350 130gr Sierra BT- 3210fps average
64gr IMR4350 " " - 3255fps average
59.5gr " 140gr " - 2972fps average
60gr IMR4831 140gr " - 2872fps average
[Eek!] The usual disclaimer applies as these are not published loads, reduce by 2 or 3 grains and work up. [Eek!] We observed no excessive pressure signs in any of these loads.
