In my Tikka 7mm-08, had real good luck with the following: Sierra 140 spt 42.0 of IMR 4895 WLR R-P brass set to 2.280" to ogive using Stoney Point This runs about 2720 fps on my chrono. Not max in Sierra manual, but close. Alhunter

KSTEPHENS, I have a browning micro-medallion in 7-08 that has been rebarrelled w/ a 20" barrell. My favorite load with this rifle shoots about 1/2" @ 100 yds. It is a 140 grain nosler accubond over 43 grains of W748 powder, and federal 210M primers. As I recall, velocity is approx. 2800 fps. I've taken numerous white tails, hogs, a black buck and axis buck with this rifle and load. Shot two hogs and two coons with it two weeks ago. GWB

KStephens, No pressure signs at all on my load. Been using the Sierra manual, this load, 42 grns, is below max. in my edition (maybe a couple of years old). This load shoots always around 1" depending on the nut behind the trigger. As always, please take internet loads, reduce by 10% and work up for your gun. ALhunter

btt. I have a BLR Lightweight in 7-08. With these shorter, lighter barrels is there a particular bullet weight that is inherently more successful? I've been shooting 140s and 150s with reasonable success but wonder if I should be shooting 120s or 160s. Matt. 6:33

I use 44.0gr of IMR4895 and a Hornady 139gr Interbond. R-P brass and CCI large rifle primers. I get 2850 from a 20" Model 7 barrel. It is accurate and in all the 7mm-08s I've tried. It is a max load in one of my manuals and above in another. Work up slowly. RH

43.1 of Varget pushing a 139 Hornady SST has done a wonderful job for me. MOA is around .89 out of my gun....Not at home, but between 2650 and 2700 FPS as I recall

John L. Moore: My 7mm-08 BLR shoots quite well with the Speer 130 grain bullets. Using 48.0 grains of IMR 4350 or 42.0 grains of IMR 4064 have both provided fine accuracy, with the edge going to the 4350 load. You might find it hard to stabilize the heavy 160 grain bullets out of the short BLR barrel. Thanks, Dad, for taking me into the Great Outdoors.

I have a model 7 with a 18" barrel. I 've been using IMR 4320 42 gr with 140 grain ballistic tips for deer and 140 partitions for elk 2691 fps over a cronogragh kills everything dead so far about a MOA which is about my limit not the guns. When there's lead in the air, there's hope!!!!
