It's not his fault he's from Kali! Anyone use those longer bullets in .224? I'm interested as well. May give me a reason to decide on which twist barrel to order with my kit. ------------------

Here is what works for me in an AR 15 service rifle built with a 1/8 twist by Compass Lake Engineering. For 200 and 300 yards, use the 69 Sierra with 24.7 grains Varget, Win primer. This is about 1 grain under maximum and shoots extremely well in my rifle. Or, use the 77 grain Sierra length tolerant bullet that can be loaded to feed through the magazine with 23.2 grains of Vit N135, Win primer. For 600 yards, use the Berger 80 grain VLD or Sierra 80 grain VLD seated to touch and 23.2 grains Vit N135, Win primers. In my chamber this one shows some primer flattening so be careful and work up to it. All loads are with moly coated bullets.

These work for me... 200/300 yds: 69 gr Sierra MatchKing, 24.5 grs Varget, LC brass, Win WSR primers, seated to fit the magazine. 600 yds: 80 gr Sierra MK, 24.5 gr Varget, LC brass, WSR primers, seated as long as you need to get good accuracy from your rifle (these are single loaded, so magazine length isn't a limiting factor).
