FYI...Did some range work with IMR4007SSC in my 280AI, 150 nosler combined technologies, FED 210M primers. The gun seemed to like the powder.

53.5grs.

Anyone else tried this in 280AI

My favorite target load is a 168gr SMK ontop of 55grs of RE-22 Fed210M in Rem 280 fire formed brass. Very good accuracy .275" @ 100yds

I have tried a wide variety of loads over the last 11 years since I built my 280 Ackley Imp.

My rifle has a 1 in 9 inch twist & does not shoot 140s that accurately.

24 inch barrel

Horn 139 gr - VV N160 63 gr - 3200 fps - poor accuracy with all 140 gr bullets
Speer 145 gr - VV N160 62 gr - 3125 fps - very accurate
Speer 145 gr - IMR 4831 61 gr - 3150 fps - accurate but high SD & variations in velocity
Speer 145 gr - Re19 62 gr - 3125 fps - very accurate
Rem PSPCL 150gr - VV N160 61 gr - 3100 fps - most accurate load - my club range load
Rem PSPCL 150 gr - VV N165 - 63 gr - 3050 fps
Nosler Accubond 160gr - VV N560 63 gr - 3050 - very accurate - I have now dropped this to 62 gr & an even 3000 fps - this is now my favourite load for hunting.
ADI 2209 (H4350) also gives good results

Case life is 10 to 11 reloads before retiring. IN MY RIFLE - None of these loads caused loose primer pockets or expanded rim (tight seating in shell holder). Case expansion was within .0003 inch.

140 grain nosler accubond 62.3 grains of H4381SC using federal 210 match primers in nosler custom .280AI brass seated ten thou. Of the lands.
Results have been very good in my custom made Borden rifle with a 24" Kreiger barrel with a 1:9twist
100yds groups average 1/3MOA
Shot some 600yds groups that measured 1/4MOA
Velocity 3125fps
Extream spread of 9fps
Getting about 5 reloads out of the brass ( nosler brass seems very soft)
