Hey guys am new to this site thought ya'll could give me some info. Just got in my new Heavy barrel savage 243 with the accutrigger. I am looking for some loads using Varget with 55grainers thru 100 grainers. I use Varget in most of my rifles 17, 223, 22-250 and all shoot under 1" so I want to stick with it. THanks for any and all help. Happy shootin' Buddy

Try 41.0 grains of Varget and the 70 gr Nosler BT with a Federal 210Match primer! I just loaded it for 2 more 700 BDL Varminters today and both of them shot this load in the .3's! 40 grains were 6/10 and 42 grains were a little over 1 inch but the 41 grains was the ticket in both rifles! GHD

I really like 36.5 grains of Varget and a 85 grain Sierra HPBT. A bit of a mild load but it works well.

I use Varget in the .223 22-250 and .308, but my best results with the .243 have always been with 4350. I prefer Hodgdon 4350 Extreme. Favorite .243 load 44.5 gr. H4350 87 gr. V-Max CCI 200 primer The .223 and 22-250 are Savage varmint rifles Good Shooting Rup

Why not try the manufacturer's site? Varget is an Australian powder, made by ADI (Australian Defence Industries), called AR2208. ADI has a handloader's handbook online. Go here: http://www.adi-limited.com/handloaders-guide/ Remember, you're looking for loads for 2208. Cheers Bruce

Shot two 243's yesterday. Both were 700 Remington Varmint Specials, one 30 years old(fleur de lis checkering and one newer) neither bedded or floated. 41 grains of Varget behind the 70BT (OAL for both was 2.763 to just contact the lands) both averaged 3518fps and both shot this load in the .3's!! R&D on those two is done!!! GHD
