6.5WSM with peak strain measurements
Just built this rifle for my father and generated some peak strain data to get him started loading.

Materials:
Rem 700 action
HS precision stock
Douglas premium air gauged stainless steel 1 in 8 twist 26.5"
Winchester brass
CCI large Magnum primers
NBT=Nosler ballistic tip
PAR= Nosler partition

Preliminary data:

Bullet Powder charge vel pressure
100NBT H4831SC 65 3300 50000psi
100NBT H4831SC 67 3379 55000psi
100NBT H4831SC 69 3530 63000psi
100NBT H4831SC 70 ? 66800psi
120NBT H1000 65 ? 53000psi
120NBT H1000 69 3258 63700psi
120NBT H1000 70 3277 ?
140PAR H1000 65 3033 69000psi

This load data closely parallels the information for the 264 Win Mag. I suspect the peak velocity for the 100 gr bullet would run around 3500-3600. H1000 is a little fast for the 140PAR. Use of double base powders could improve on these velocities. In the end I don't believe this will offer anything in the ballistics department over the 264 Win Mag. Maybe accuracy?
