Anybody have any favorite loads for the 25-06 with IMR 7828? I use a lot of that powder so I was thinking of using it in my 25. So far I have only played with 100gr bullets and less. Having great luck with 53gr of RL19 and 100gr NBT's.

Thanks, Jake

UL, Never messed with 7828 in the 25-06 but have burned up a lot of Re-19 in various(a lot of them!!) and find it to be a "go to" powder when messing with the 25-06 in the 85 -100 grain projectile. IMR 4350 as well as H4831sc have always been the "go-to's" when using the 115-120 projectiles. Maybe I'll get around to trying the 7828 sometime but up till now, never really saw the need. GHD

IMR 7828 is a great powder for the 25-06 so long as you you are shooting heavy bullets.

With bullets of 100 grains or less you are much better off using a faster burning powder like IMR 4831 or H 4350, etc. etc.

We messed with IMR 7828 when it first came out and found that with 100 grain bullets it was not the way to go.

However, when loaded behind a 115 to 120 grain bullet it works fine. It is my personal choice for use behind the 115 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip.

My favorite load is right out of the Nosler manual; 54 grains of IMR 7828 behind the 115 Ballistic Tip. I use the Fed 215M primer in these loads.

I have shot a range of animals with this from coyotes to antelope to wild hogs.
Performance has always been outstanding.

I tried 7828 with 110 grain Accubonds last week and it gave me the best group with that bullet with several diffrent powders that I tried. When using 100 BT's, RL22/25 done best in mine.

RFlowers is spot on! 54-55gr of IMR7828ssc has given me superb results in 3 different 25-06's. I was stuck on 4350 and 4831 for years, but with good results. IMR7828ssc took the 25-06 to a whole different level of performance.
