I am looking for some reliable load data for 223 Rem using 60 grain jacketed bullets (Hornady and Nosler) and 62 grain copper (Barnes). I am shooting these from an R15 with a 22 inch 1 in 9 twist barrel. All help is appreciated.

My 700 likes IMR4895 with WSR primers, WW brass, touching. I do not remember offhand how much, but how fast is 3K fps. It is around book max but not over.

My AR also like a max load of IMR4895, win brass, standard CCI primers, and 60gr Nosler Partitions. 5/8" groups at 100 yards.

I am shooting 63gr Sierra's with 24gr of Benchmark in a T/C Contender carbine (16.25" barrel)and an Encore rifle. That shoots sub 1" in both of those and sub .5" in my Weatherby in 223.

The most overlooked bullet today for the .223 is the Sierra 60 gr HP varmint bullet. A friend and I have tried many powders and we always come back to Varget powder. This is it: 26 gr Varget, 60gr. Sierra HP bullets, Federal or CCI match primers, brass of your choice, 2.225" OAL. If you are wondering if they kill, in my opinion as well as Nosler ballistic tips, but much less expensive. JB for a nickels worth.

RL-15 has proven to be the most accurate powder for me in my 1:8 and 1:9 rifles. I start at 24.0 gr and work up.
