FN mauser action, 23" #2 Douglas premium barrel, Timney trigger, laminated stock glass bedded and cross-bolted, 2-7 vari x II scope
Favorite load - 225 gr Nosler partition, 60 grs RL15, CCI 200 primers, R-P brass, 2720 fps. I went up to 61 grains for around 2800fps on a Crony and confirmed on 470Mbogo's oeler(sp). This is a fine moose load.
Next favorite - 250 gr Hornady, 58 gr RL15, CCI 200 primers, R-P brass, 2630 fps. Very accurate(.75 " groups)
I had a Remington 7600 35 Whelen several years back. I could kick myself for getting rid of it. I did very little reloading for it. My favorite load was Federal Premium's 225 gr Trophy Bonded. I got 1.5" groups with regularity. I killed one deer with it. The bullet went through its front shoulder and bone and exited the opposite ham (going through the bone along the way). It appears to be a devastating penetrator. I would start with H380 or IMR 3031 and load the Trophy Bonded bullets. There may be more suitable powders, but those two have given me outstanding service with all my medium capacity ventures.

Ballistic twin 350 Rem Mag favourite load: 225 grain Nosler 60 grains 4320. Gives 2660 in my 20" 660 barrell. 59 grains 748 and 225 Sierras also good.
Deer like the 200 grain Rem CL with 60 grains 4320. Normal pressure and same speed as factory ammo. For faster kills on small deer try the 200 round nose by Sierra. Explodes like a bomb in the deers chest.
The most accurate load I have is with the 250gr speer, 55gr IMR4064, Rem Cases, CCI 200 Primers for About 2500 fps. I really like the Federal Premium 225gr TBBC factory load. They clock over 2700 fps out of my Mauser VZ 24 with a 24" barrel. If you have a 35 Whelen you really need to try a box of these. Hopefully Federal will sell enought to continue making this fine ammo. Dale

I shoot a custom Remington Model 30 Express made back in the '20s. It has a premium Douglas 24" tube on it with a 1 in 14" twist. My favorite load and an incredibly accurate one is the big Speer two fifty grainer behind fifty seven and half of IMR 4320. Cases are WW and primer is CCI 300 or WLR. Chronographed velocity is 2636 fps. Accuracy with this load is amazing...1.6 inches at 200 yards. At 100, when I do my part, I've shot five or more rounds into one ragged hole. The rifle is glass bedded in the recoil lug area. This load closely follows .338 Mag ballistics...with much less powder.
I've shot two elk with this load...and they just sat down and died on the spot! All were shoulder shots with massive penetration, clear through the off shoulder.
I had a Ruger Special Edition M-77 Mk. II in 35 Whelen. My best load for it was a 250 Hornady (RN or SP) over 59 grains of RL-15. in a 22" barrel with a 1:16 twist, I got 2,550 fps and sub-MOA accuracy. RN's were slightly more accurate. The Nosler 250 Partition also shot well over this charge.
I love the 250 speer hot core over 59 grs. of RL 12 it clocks right at 2500. The most accurate load is 225 gr ballistic tip over 61 grs of RL 12 it clocks 2620 in my 22" remington classic.

That would be some hot loads in my rifle!

i have a 700ks and a semi custom m700 classic..both my rifles shoot the sierra 225 boat tail really well with 59.0 gr of rl15.nearly 2700fps. this is fragmentable bullet so i only use it on deer & hogs but they fold like the proverable sack of potatoes..the ks also shoots the nosler bal tip with 57.0 gr rl15 but i have not used this load on game..

I have a Rem 7600 pump in 35 Whel. and I use 56.0 of IMR 4320 with the Speer 250 SP in Fed Cases with Fed 210M GM Primers. Very accurate load and the Speer Bullet is all you need, no need a prem bullet at these vel. of 2600 FPS.

I'm shooting a .35 Whelen 700 Rem. Classic made in 1988. 22" barrel. Remington Brass, 58.5 grains of RL 15, 250 grain Nosler Partitons, and WLR primers. Chrony gives 2,525 fps. Last group I shot went into 3/8" center to center. You could cover it with a nickle. SHot 2 moose and 2 elk with that load. No complaints.
