I've got a 308 700 VSSF with a 26 inch barrel that I've been tinkering with.Loading 46 grs of H380 with a 175 SMK my last five shot group measures .462 at 100 yards off of bags. I tried 45 grs of Varget and it measured .528 My deer hunting load is 46 grs of H380 and a 165 Nosler Ballistic tip.I like the H380 because it meters GREAT through both of my measures,no trickling required.I have been told it can be temperature sensitive, but have never seen it in 20 years of loading 308. A couple of others worth honorable mention,Reloader 12 or 15 IMR 4064 and IMR 4895. All ignited by CCI BR primers. Don't discount Remington cases, two of my other 308s shoot better with them than Win brass. Also might want to look at match brass from Lapua or Hornady. Good luck and keep me posted. Howard | ||
