After my last dilemma with the 30-06 I changed loads and ended up with shorter cartridges (long story). Anyhow, the new shorter loads won't feed right at all. The bolt only goes to a certain point just shy of where I could close it and then is extremely hard to eject again. Any ideas? Maybe at $10.00/ box i should just leave this one to the pros. 7mm. guy shoot straight or shoot often.

Just guessing,I would start over with new brass and make sure the shoulder is not pulling back.I had a similer problem last summer my first time reloading the 308.Got help here and everything worked out fine.i had to back off on my FL resizeing die a little and slightly lube the neck mouth so it wouldnt drag coming back thru.Dont give up it sounds like something simple but i wouldnt mess with a too short case and dont force nothing or guess/take chances.Always seek advice & Take -check case measurements and cartridge overall length to the manual specs. Good Luck!

You're one hell of a good guesser! I took one of the problem loads and after pulling the bullet tried to close the bolt on said brass, no dice. Fortunately this problem was only with a few brass so pulled those just now. Great stress releiver! Thanks alot. 7mm. guy P.S The brass can then be resized and work just fine. shoot straight or shoot often.
