I thought I'd post an update on this reloading project. MRP was a huge improvement over RL22. 180 partitions (82 grains), 168TSX (86 grains) and 165 Interbonds (87grains) all will shoot into less than 1 moa. This is a great improvement compared to RL 22 where nearly everly load was 2moa or more, and some of the groups were nearly double!I must admit surpize at the 165 tsx shooting into .75" It's taken 6 different boxes of barnes bullets to find one that would break the 1.5" barrier--I had promised myself this was my last attempt. I've got these same bullets loaded with 7828--I just need to find a free day to shoot. In the 20 years I've been reloading, I've never seen results this dramatic when changing to a similar burning rate powder. I'm hoping the 7828 will do as well as I can only get MRP mail order and have to pay the hazzardous material shipping fee.

I would agree with most in that 150 to 165 grain bullets would be light for Elk. However, if you are looking for good accuracy in light bullets that will hold up to the velocity you are looking for then I would try a premimum bullet. In the 300 weatherby we have had good results using Barnes 168 grain TSX with H4831sc. Use the Barnes Data and work up your loads. Based upon what we have found the TSX will achieve better results than standard X both in terms of accuracy and velocity and better accuracy than XLC's. The 150 TSX also works well, however, we have found the 168's to be more useful....I hope this helps you...If you do not have a Barnes reloading manual as a reference please let me know....JJS
