I am having a problem finding a load for the new rifle. It is a heavy barrel with Rem trued action in a glass stock. Still not convinced it is the load; maybe a parallax problem. Sierra #5 has six pages on that cartridge. They used a 1-8" twist. What bullet are you trying? I could post the accuracy load. Join the NRA | |||

It will be over month before I have access to my data. But check out the Hodgon Manual. If I remember correctly it has data for a 70 gr bullet and H-4831. I am not a bench rest shooter but with a max charge of 4831 SC and 70 gr BT group less than a 1/2 in. A couple of grains less and a 95 gr Parition will consistently group less than 3/4 in great deer load. Another place for starting loads is 240 Weatherby data, it has almost equal capacity case as the 284. One thing I noticed with my rifle is it does not group well with light loads and opens up at the red line. Best groups seem to be about 2 gr less than when the primers start flattening a tad.
