I agree with the other guys recommendations, however in two of my 22/250s (a Ruger VT and a custom Barrel Model 70)
the powder that beats them all for accuracy is Reloader 7.

I found the load data in the 47th Edition of Lymans manual.

25 grains of IMR 4198 has also been the second most accurate. I used 224 Weatherby data to find it. However playing at the range with different loads these two won out Hands Down.

Cheers and happy holidays

I'd start with IMR 4064 or Varget. Good luck!

First powder I'd try is H380.

Hey hunter65,

It is good to see you here!

Try this with the 50 gr. BT's: 39.0 grs. H-380 with Win. WLR primers, Win. brass.

I'm with Bob no this one! 212 c-t-c five shoot goups. Not bad for a $200 H&R.

I like 40 grs of W760 behind a 55 gr. bullet - esp. Nosler BT. I have a 26" barrel and vel = 3750 fps with ~58,000 psi. This is plenty HOT, accurate, and not a tremendous barrel burner. I highly recommend this load. Remember, you can shoot a barrel out with a 22-250.
